Work in progress #2

Following on from the previous update; here is the latest news about some of the current projects going through the web forge at Jojet Towers as well as a peak at some new work…

New Project: Paul Beauchamp

Paul, like a lot of clients, came to me via word of mouth, this time through his friend Harry Holland (who I’m also doing work with). Paul, amongst other things, is an amazingly talented custom, hand made classical/flamenco guitar maker – we’re going to have a lot of fun bringing this out on line!

This is Paul in his workshop…what this photo doesn’t bring out is the amazing smell of all the different types of wood.

Next stage on this project is to start planning for the structure of his online strategy.

New project: Jon Bockelmann-Evans

Jon is a new client who I’m working with to help drastically improve the website offering. Jon offers many services to businesses, helping them deal with stress in workplace; a happy workforce is a productive workforce – check out the video on Jon’s old website* – he’s a great presenter.

Russell Britton has already done some fantastic new brand identity work for Jon (which you can see as part of this early website mockup which we’re working on).

Currently working hard with Jon on website copy, getting the right tone, succinctness as well call to actions.

Ongoing: Employee Engagement Portal

I talked about this private, restricted access employee engagement portal in the previous update and it is coming along superbly. We’ve worked on some additional functionality to help restrict access to just the UK & Ireland employees of this worldwide, multi-national company as well as implementing an additional tool to help bulk pre-register portal users.

Client is in the final stages of content preparation and a go live date is quickly approaching.

Ongoing: Accountancy website redesign

The new web server is being set up (with two, separate test & live environments as usual) and final training for the client will happen next week. The client is already savvy with WordPress and so is pretty clued up but I will need to demonstrate how to access some of the custom content areas on this heavily customised WordPress driven website/blog.

If you remember from the last design mockup, we had some placeholder images for how we wanted the hero area photography to work; their photographer (who’s name escapes me) has done us proud. Will be working with the client next week to discuss which images we’ll use:

Other News

Final congratulations to a client of mine, Alison Love who held a celebration party her first year trading recently – well done Alison! And here’s to the next year :)

Oh, and don’t forget the Oi! content & social media conference coming up in September – this will be great; really interesting speakers lined up (this is not a plug, I’m only loosely involved).
